Google has added an extra level of anti-phishing protection to its webmail service, Google Mail.
Known as Gmail outside of the UK, Google Mail users will now be able to enable an icon which will only show up when an email is from a "super-trustworthy" source.
For the moment, it is limited to eBay and PayPal. When you receive an email from one of these sites, you will see a key icon next to the message in your Inbox.
"It's a bit of work for senders to make their email super-trustworthy, which is why this feature is limited to just eBay and PayPal right now," said Gmail Spam Tsar Brad Taylor.
"We hope to add more senders in the future, and when we do, you'll know because you'll see the super-trustworthy key icon magically appear by those senders too," he continued.
To enable this feature in Google Mail, go to Settings, Labs, then check the Enable box next to the 'Authentication icon for verified senders' option and click on Save Changes.
