Firefox launches Beatbullying browser

Mozilla has launched a dedicated Firefox browser designed to mentor victims of online bullying and offer them support.

Web User: Firefix and Beatbullying team up

Mozilla, the corporation behind Firefox, has launched a new custom-built browser in conjunction with Beatbullying.

The browser, available for download on PCs and Macs, is the latest part of Beatbullying's campaign to make the web a safer environment for youngsters.

CyberMentors, the online peer-monitoring site set up by Beatbullying, offers help and advice from trained mentors to anyone who is being bullied online.

The new browser has a number of tools offering quick and easy access to CyberMentors - young people can chat with other online bullying victims and mentors, access tips and advice to deal with cyberbullying and report it.

According to Beatbullying more than 95,000 young people have accessed the CyberMentors website.

There are now over 1,000 fully trained CyberMentors across the UK.
