Watch Tynwald Day live online

The annual Tynwald Day ceremony on the Isle of Man will be broadcast live on the web on Monday 6 June.

Isle of Man

You can watch the annual Tynwald Day ceremony on the Isle of Man live on the web for the first time on Monday 6 July.

The BBC website will have live video coverage of the event, which begins at 1100BST.

The ceremony, which dates back to Viking times, gives the Manx people a say in how the island is run.

Members of the community with grievances that they have been unable to settle can appeal to the Tynwald parliament and new laws are proclaimed.

"Isle of Man ex-pats around the world will be able to hear the petitions from local people as they campaign to get laws changed," said the BBC's Paul Moulton.
