The number of visits to the One and Other website, which is streaming the live webcam footage of Antony Gormley's living statue project, has rocketed.

On 7 July, the website was the 698th most popular website in the UK and became the most visited site in Hitwise's Performing Arts category, according to statistics from the web-monitoring firm.

The highest percentage of One and Other's traffic came from Google UK, at 13.7 per cent.

Coming in second was Twitter with 9.9 per cent, Facebook ranked third with 8.1 per cent and the Mayor of London’s homepage was fourth with 6.9 per cent.

Antony Gormley’s project is being sponsored by Sky Arts, which came in as the seventh-biggest source of traffic.

The sponsorship has also benefited Sky because on 7 July, 12.5 per cent of One and Other's downstream traffic went to the Sky Arts homepage.
