Surfers battle in 2p eBay auction

Madcap web users are battling it out for a two pence piece which is up for grabs on online auction website eBay.


The coin is described as "an original 1998 UK currency two pence piece as used by many celebrities in their daily life, including Bernard Cribbins, Frank McAvennie, Suzi Quatro, Alan Brazil, Craig from Big Brother and Lowri Turner".


However, the seller admits that this two pence piece is not necessarily one used by the above celebs, although "their [sic] is a slight chance that during the 5yr life span of this coin it could well have entered the hands of them".


The seller also suggests the coin may have crossed the palms of other celebs including Robbie Williams, Eminem, George Clooney, David Beckham and Paolo Di Canio.


So far the illustrious lot has attracted nine bidders and a top bid of  75p, despite only having a 1p reserve price. You've still got two days and 22 hours left to bid for the coin.
