Luxury hotel for sale online

Web users could win a £1 million, 17-bedroom luxury hotel in Scotland by buying a £6 raffle ticket.

The current owners of the Kimberley Hotel in Oban, Argyll, apparently feel like retiring and are looking for a worth successor. Rather bizarrely, they've decided the best way to do this is to dispose of the hotel in an internet prize draw.

To enter the competition you need to hand over 10 Euros (around £6) and in return you'll get a symbolic roof slate from the hotel and an entry into the raffle.

The owners aim to sell 350,000 tiles by 30th March. If they don't sell enough tiles the draw won't take place and no money will change hands. If all goes well the draw will be broadcast live on the internet on April 13th 2003 and the owners will have netted themselves over £2 million.

The winner of the Kimberley will have to run the hotel for at least a year and has to honour the jobs of the four members of staff working there. 20 runners up will win a week's stay for two at the hotel.
