Some people get their kicks bungee jumping others get a buzz from handgliding, but the latest hi-adrenaline sport is 'extreme ironing'. If you want to get involved in this exciting hobby check out the recently revamped Extreme Ironing website.
Fans of the sport describe extreme ironing as the 'latest danger sport that combines the thrills of an extreme outdoor activity with the satisfaction of a well pressed shirt.' How can you resist? Check out the Galleries section to see extreme ironers in action - you'll find fans ironing on the top of mountains, ironing while skiing and even ironing under water (please don't try this at home).
Head over to the News area to get the lowdown on the first ever Extreme Ironing World Championships, held in September in Munich. Apparently over 80 competitors from 10 countries went head-to-head taking ironing to the absolute limit. Ironists were required to run around a gruelling course, stopping at five stations for a spot of ironing.
And if you're wondering where it all started, read the Extreme Ironing FAQs. Apparently a bloke called Phil got the ball rolling in Leicester back in 1997 when he decided to combine ironing with his hobby of rock climbing.
