A seller has withdrawn an item for sale on auction website eBay - his wife.
The unknown blonde, pictured sitting up in bed, was posted for sale on the site with a starting bid of £1.
But the auction has come to an early close without any successful bidders, "because the item is no longer available for sale".
The seller had warned in the lot's description: "I do however reserve the right to remove from auction, as advertised product may get a little annoyed if she finds out I'm selling her."
Described as "house trained and fully in control of bodily functions with demanding behavioural tendencies and good vocal range," the Wrexham-based female was apparently unaware that she was up for grabs.
Whether it is legal to sell someone in the 21st century is questionable, since the abolition of slavery in the 19th century.
Perhaps the expensive nature of the product put off potential buyers. The description warned: "It will be the responsibility of the winning bidder to pay for all expenses incurred whilst in possession."
