Google Toolbar

Google has launched a full version of its new toolbar for web browsers, which lets you access the site's search technology from any web page.

A beta version of the Google Toolbar 2.0, which is free to install, has been available since the end of June.

New features to the Google Toolbar 2.0 include a Popup blocker for shutting out pesky pop-up ads and Autofill, a facility that automatically fills in an internet form requiring customer details.

Jonathan Rosenberg, vice president of product management at Google, said: "Whether it's searching for content, blocking pop-ups, or automatically filling in forms, the Google Toolbar makes accessing information on the web fast, easy, and convenient."

Google Toolbar 2.0 also lets Blogger users create a post on their weblog that points to the page that they are visiting, using the Blog This button.

The search supremo has also recently added a news alert service that helps you keep up to date with the all the latest happenings. Click on the topics you want to know about, submit your email address and you'll receive an alert when relevant news articles appear online.

While Google's new calculator service lets you solve mathematic problems by entering numeric expressions into the google.com or the Google Toolbar search boxes.
