Insurance comparison website Insuresupermarket.com is to start charging visitors to access results using its home and motor insurance tools from next month.
Insuresupermarket.com will only reveal the names of those insurers who have signed a revenue agreement with the site.
Other insurers without an agreement will have their names hidden but they will still appear in the table. If you want to see the mystery insurer, you'll have to pay a "small pay per view fee".
If all the insurers listed have signed up to become a partner then the service will be completely free for all visitors.
According to Insuresupermarket.com, its comparison searches are unique because they obtain quotes from every direct and broker insurance site at once.
The motor insurance comparison tool, which launched this week, lets you compare motor quotations from over 50 direct insurers and insurers on broker sites.
Broker websites include AA.com, Abbey National and Lloyds TSB and direct insurers websites include Admiral, AXA, Egg and Halifax.
