64% of us would abandon chocolate in favour of internet access, according to a new survey into the habits of the UK’s internet users. The NOP survey asked net users what common vice they’d be prepared to sacrifice to remain online: 64% ditched chocolate in the top spot, 45% could live without alcohol and 40% would abandon their mobile phones. 8% were even prepared to dump a boyfriend or girlfriend to keep their treasured internet connection. Somehow popstrel Dannii Minogue managed to work her way into the survey and it seems she’s a bit of a net geek. She confessed, “there’s no way I’d give up the net, so chocolate would just have to go.” The survey also reveals that it’s the menfolk that hog the net connection at home with almost two-thirds reporting that hubbies and sons were seldom off the web. It’s also the adults, 87%, rather than the kids, 13%, who spend the most time online.
