Flash mobbers are planning to gather on London's South Bank during the final week of David Blaine's starvation stunt. The act of flash mobbing is when the internet is used to organise an unexpected mob of people to gather in one place to perform an act of non-violent surrealism. This time, flash mobbers are planning to meet by Tower Bridge during Blaine's final week of extreme hunger on 13 October at 7.44pm. David Blaine is attempting to stay suspended from a crane over the River Thames in a plastic box for 44 days with no food and just water to drink. According to the organisers of the flash mob, they want to show Blaine that the "British humour of London freaks may well create his biggest challenge yet." The first British flash mob took place in August at a furniture shop on Tottenham Court Road and similar acts have cropped up across the UK. People who want to participate in the latest flash mob, called Flashblaine, need to visit the website www.flashblaine.co.uk 44 hours before the stunt from 11.44pm on Saturday 11 October. You will be asked to take a piece of food along with you.
