Royal Mail

Royal Mail has launched a new online service that lets home movers notify companies of their change in address details.

The free facility lets you notify services such as gas, water, electricity, telephone, local council, or TV licensing of an address change.

According to Royal Mail, it can take you up to 30 minutes to notify each of your companies of an address change and claims this service will let you speed the process up.

Royal Mail claims providers prefer you to notify them of your change of address through this way as it reduces call centre and data processing costs.

You will need to register and enter your old and new address and select from the list of companies that you want to notify. More than 800 companies are signed up to the service, including the main utility providers, banks, supermarkets and gym clubs.
