A record number of people accessed the internet via their mobile phone during November last year, according to the latest statistics. Figures from the Mobile Data Association (MDA) show that the total number of WAP page impressions during November 2003 reached 947 million. The figure, an increase of 50 million on October 2003's total, provides the highest monthly total since the MDA began charting usage in September 2002. November's figures from operators O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone, takes the daily average to 31 million, compared to 12 million per day in November 2002. According to the MDA, many people go online via their mobile phone to download ringtones, which is contributing to the growth in WAP figures. The five most popular ringtones downloaded across the four UK network operators during November were: 1 Where is the Love? - Black-Eyed Peas 2 Turn Me On - Kevin Lyttle 3 Be Faithful - Fatman Scoop feat. Crooklyn Clan 4 P.I.M.P - Snoop Dogg & 50 Cent 5 I Believe in a Thing Called Love - The Darkness
