Leeds for sale on eBay

Cheeky web users have put debt-ridden Leeds United up for sale at online auction website eBay. The sellers, unconnected to the Elland Road club, claim they will use the money raised in the auction to bail the side out. One seller has put Leeds United up for auction at a starting bid of 1p, but has failed to attract any bidders so far. The posting reads: "A great buy here for leeds united. I am selling them. You are bidding on leeds united any money received please pay into my paypal account and I will give it direct to leeds you can be remembered as a GOD!!!!! Are you are russian saviour Are you are sheikh saviour ? HELP US !!!!!!" A second eBay seller, offering the club for a more princely sum of £10,000,000, states: "Leeds united football club for sale buy now beat the rush. Everyone has wanted to play in the premier league why not do it. if you do buy this club just put yourself in the team. Oppotunity of a lifetime buy now or risk losing all of your star players." The posting comes with the small print: "Please note: you are paying me to buy this team not to actually buy it yourself also note that if enough money to buy the club isn't reached you will only buy the portion of the club to the value you pay minus my fee's." Leeds United, with debts totalling as much as £100m, have until Friday 6 February to raise enough money to avoid going into administration.
