PlusNet and Virgin.net have both cut the cost of joining their broadband internet services.
Virgin.net has halved the cost of its broadband starter kit, which includes a SpeedTouch USB modem and two phone line filters, to £9.99
The ISP's broadband service offers a 512kbps internet connection for £24.99 a month with free activation and five free email addresses. The starter kit offer is expected to finish at the end of March.
PlusNet has halved the activation fee for its DSL Connect service, which comes with a three month free trial of PlusNet anti-virus and spam protection, to £30 until 16 April. Existing broadband customers can also save up to £29 when upgrading to either of the ISP’s 1mbps or 2mbps connections - this offer ends on 22 April.
The PlusNet 512kbps service, which is priced at £18.99 per month, now comes with a USB modem thrown in and a reduced set up fee of £59.99, and the Broadband EasyStart, which includes anti-virus and anti-spam protection, costs £24.99 per month with no activation fee.
