Tennis fans, journalists and photographers can wirelessly surf the web at this week's Stella Artois Tennis Championships.

If you’re planning to attend the closing weekend of the tournament at Queen's Club in London, you could search for info on players or send digital snaps by taking your laptop along.

BT has installed a wireless broadband network at the Club so that anyone with a Wi-Fi-enabled laptop or PDA can send and receive large files at broadband speed.

All you need is a WLAN card for your laptop, which you can get by visiting the BT Openzone helpdesk in the International Media Centre.

Chris Clark, chief executive of BT Wireless Broadband, said: “With thousands of spectators, business people, journalists and photographers from around the world visiting the championships, the installation of BT Openzone and BTnet, (fixed Internet Access) provides them with a perfect opportunity to check their emails or sort out something urgent at the office in between games.”

There are currently more than 2,500 BT Openzone access points nationwide, with subscriptions starting at £10 a month for 120 minutes or there's an occasional user option, offering a one-hour pass for £6 (payable with vouchers or online with credit cards).
