Comic Bill Bailey’s website and a page dedicated to the traditional British fry-up have been named two of the best websites of 2004.

Eggbaconchipsandbeans, described as an 'impassioned pictorial review of all things greasy spoon', features in Yahoo's Finds of the Year 2004 list.

Yahoo’s annual awards celebrate the best sites of the year, with the top ten taken from the search engine's list of the most original, humorous, and useful sites on the net and shortlisted by a judging panel of independent experts.

Other sites in the top ten include Derelict London, described as a 'strangely beautiful gallery of the obscure and unseen places in the great capital' and World Wide Panorama, a gallery of 360 degree views from around the world.

Surfers now have the annual challenge of choosing the People’s Find of the Year. The top ten can be viewed and voted for at yahoo.co.uk/findoftheyear2004.

Salim Mitha, director of Yahoo Search UK and Europe, said: “Yahoo Search aspires to track down the most creative, informative, funniest and even weirdest sites on the net. The impressive diversity of this year’s winners certainly illustrates the depth and breadth of this essential life tool. The judging panel made some tough decisions to shortlist the best of the web and now it’s the public’s turn."
