We are a nation of Bank Holiday bores with nearly three quarters (74 per cent) of us choosing to loaf around at home, according to findings by MSN Search.
But the majority of these homebodies (52 per cent) believe they're wasting their free holiday time, the survey of over 2000 Britons reveals.
In an attempt to reverse the malaise, the portal hopes its MSN Search Maze in London will get us off our backsides this Bank Holiday.
The city’s first ever maze, shaped like the MSN butterfly, is open from 30 May until 30 September, located in Queen Mary’s Garden, Regent’s Park.
If you find your way to the centre, you’ll discover a MSN Search pod where you can challenge the MSN Search Supremo in an interactive quiz. Getting lost will make a change from using the time to catch up on chores such as housework, washing the car, DIY and gardening (53 per cent) or watching TV (20 per cent).
Around 32 per cent of fun-lovers who do decide to get out and about, log onto search engines for inspiration. MSN has launched a Bank Holiday website for people unsure what to do.
But if you’re thinking of motoring, make sure you don’t get trapped in a Bank Holiday snarl-up by logging onto the AA's website for the latest traffic news.
