Surfers will be able to watch Live 8, the free music event aimed at highlighting the ongoing problem of global poverty and debt, via the internet next month.
Coldplay, Madonna and U2 will headline the Live 8 charity concert in London's Hyde Park on 2 July with concerts also taking place in Philadelphia, Paris, Rome and Berlin.
Tickets for the London Hyde Park concert will be available through a special text lottery on 6 June via TV, radio and newspapers but music fans that are not lucky enough to get tickets can watch all the concerts live via AOL's websites - www.aolmusic.com, www.aol.co.uk, www.aol.de or www.aol.fr.
“These concerts are the starting point for the long walk to justice - we will not tolerate the further pain of the poor while we have the financial and moral means to prevent it," said Live Aid founder and pop star Bob Geldof.
Live 8 concerts will be held to raise awareness of the Make Poverty History campaign, which aims to get the richest nations to cancel debt, increase aid and encourage trade with developing countries. The huge event will be staged at the same time as world leaders gather at the G8 summit in Scotland.
