If you want 2Mbps broadband internet access at home and spend plenty of time on the phone during evenings and weekends, Eclipse Internet may have a deal to interest you.
The company today launched a combined internet access and phone service for £19.99 per month including free off-peak calls to UK landlines. Called Home Broadband + TalkMore, the contract includes a free broadband modem and ties you in for only one month.
Broadband prices are falling at the moment. Bulldog launched an 8Mbps service last week for £15.50 per month – plus £10.50 for its phone line rental – while Madasafish offers a 2Mbps access contract for £17.99 per month.
Mark Lang, founder of Eclipse Internet, said the company is happy to give its customers a one-month contract rather than tie them in for 12 months. “Unlike other leading broadband providers, we’re confident customers will stay with us because they want to, not because they have to,” he said.
The Eclipse service also features free email virus scanning, email and web hosting, but there is a monthly data transfer limit of 5GB. Thereafter you can pay £1.75 for each additional 1GB of data you download.
You need a BT phone line to sign up and calls to Eclipse’s technical support line are charged at national call rates.
