Web users are spending more time searching for holiday bargains via the internet, new figures show.

Eighty three per cent internet users now visit more than two websites when they want to book a flight compared to 54 per cent in 2003, a survey from Wanadoo reveals.

And 79 per cent of web users now look at more than two sites when searching for accommodation, compared with 30 per cent in 2003.

According to the survey, only five per cent of holidaymakers don’t use the internet to search or book their holiday deals.

The figures also show that one in two holiday seekers surf two or more travel websites to find a package holiday with 19 per cent visiting six or more websites.

Wanadoo has teamed with online travel companies ebookers and Kelkoo to revamp its travel section.

A new travel site called PriceBookers that offers a similar service was launched recently – visitors can enter their desired travel details and click to search from over 20 travel websites.
