A Swedish couple have named their baby, wait for it, Google.

The baby boy was christened "Google Kai" by his father who is a big fan of the search engine and who also has a doctorate in search-engine marketing.

Father Walid Kai, said the the name came to him when he found out his wife Carol was pregnant.

Walid wrote to Google saying: “When we first knew that my wife Carol is pregnant, I said: 'We will name our child Google.'

“Everyone laughed and did not take me seriously. My brother said, 'Yeah, name the next one Yahoo Fuji Nikon’.”

Walid said he had a hard time convincing officials at the birth registry, but eventually won them over.
