Firefox voted best browser

More than ten per cent of web users now use Firefox, and those that don’t still think it’s the best browser, according to a new study.

The latest figures from the US show that Firefox has gained 3.34 per cent browser usage market share in the last year, while Microsoft IE has lost 3.89 per cent market share in the same period.

According to Net Applications, who conducted the survey, if both companies maintain their current trends, it would still take Firefox more than 10 years to pass Microsoft.

When Net Applications asked survey respondents "Which browser is better?", and provided the options of Netscape, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera in a random order for each survey taker, Firefox came out on top, with 68 per cent of the votes.

Apple Safari and Opera Browser both had small gains in usage percentage for March as well. Apple climbed to 3.19 per cent from 3.13 per cent for the previous month. Opera moved from 0.53 per cent to 0.54 per cent.
