Football fans are being invited to select the Premier League players they think will make the biggest impact on this summer’s 2006 FIFA World Cup for the new Fantasy Premier League International game.

The official F.A. Premier League game, which is free to enter, gives fantasy managers the chance to select a squad of 12 players from Premier League clubs who have made their country’s World Cup squads as well as one of the managers from the 32 participating nations. Points will be awarded based on performance in 2006 FIFA World Cup matches.

Premier League fans wanting to back their own teams will be able to pick their own favourite players alongside the likes of big name stars such as Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard.

The game also includes a private league feature that allows managers the chance to take on friends and colleagues. Managers will be competing for a first prize of a VIP trip to a Barclays Premiership match.

Martin Axford, manager of premierleague.com, said: “There will be over 80 players from Premier League clubs looking to leave their mark on this summer’s big event. Fantasy Premier League International will give fans from across the globe the chance to predict which players from the world’s most exciting league will make the biggest impact.”
