Some of the London’s most famous landmarks are up for grabs via a new website designed to help impoverished children across the Capital.
The charity site lets members of the public adopt anything from The Houses of Parliament to Lords Cricket ground or their local pub, as part of the Help a London Child Campaign (HALC).
The website offering parts of the Capital at prices ranging from £5 for well known shops and pubs to £100 for the most famous landmarks such as Westminster Abbey. Of course, the site notes, the purchase prices reflect the fact people don't actually 'own' the property, but are 'adopting' them for charity.
Capital Radio’s HALC charity is focusing on poverty within London where one in three children is born below the poverty line, despite living in the world’s fourth richest city.
Fundraising manager Tamsyn Clark, said: “This is our version of Monopoly meets Milliondollarpixel We want to give listeners and others the chance to support Help a London Child and have some fun, and what better way than to buy a favourite landmark such as Buckingham Palace for the bargain price of £30.”
