BBC viewers will soon be able to participate to their favourites shows via 3G mobile phones, webcams and voice-over-IP.
Have Your Say, the BBC World current affair opinions show will be the first show to let BBC viewers to share their views live through webcam and video phones following the partnership with video service provider company, All New Video.
According to All New Video, BBC viewers will be able to call the show via phone and PC, and once connected, will be greeted with an interactive media response.
Have You Say participants will be able to choose between recording a video or voice message for the show or interacting directly with the show's presenter by voice or video conversation.
Vicky Taylor told Web User: "The idea behind using contributors with web cams came out of the fact programmes have for many years used contributors on the phone from all over the world - this is a logical extension on that given the new technologies now available."
"We haven't set any limits of how many contributors per show - and we will still speak to people using traditional technology if that makes the most editorial sense. For Have your Say the aim is to have web cam or 3G contributors live into the programmes before end of year on a regular basis," she added.
The new service will soon be available to ‘other high profile news gathering programs’, according to All New Video.
