Fans of US best-selling writer Michael Conelly can ask him questions about his new book Echo Park on 26 September via Skype.

Connelly will read an excerpt from his book and take questions from the audience via Skype's recently launched service Skypecast.

Skypecasts let anyone host a discussion on a topic they choose over the Skype network. The host can moderate the discussion, mute guests, control who is speaking and eject people if they need to be kicked off.

According to Skype, the first 25 people to log on to the Skypecast will receive a signed copy of Echo Park.

To join fans have to create a free Skype account on the site and sign on to the Skypecast at 5pm next Tuesday.
