Zune.net goes live

Microsoft has launched the Zune.net website in preparation for the US release of the Zune digital media device later this month. An email was sent out to people signed up to Zune's newsletter alerting users to the Zune.net site and promising further news on 10 November, which is next Friday. The US launch of the Zune device is scheduled for 14 November. However, reports suggest that there are no firm plans for launching the device outside the US at the moment, with some even claiming that it might not be released in the UK until 2008. "Make sure you come back to Zune.net on November 10 for some exciting information about our launch plans," the email says. It is unclear whether worldwide launch dates might be outlined on this date. Microsoft has also turned the Coming Zune website into a Zune Arts website. According to Microsof it is "a place for creative expression around the idea of sharing from some of today's most progressive artists, animators and designers." The Zune will offer 30GB of storage space and be available in black, brown or white. It'll have built-in Wi-Fi functionality, allowing users to share content; an FM tuner; and a 3in screen for viewing photos and videos. http://www.zune.net/ https://www.zune-arts.net/
