Vodafone will launch a broadband service in the UK early next week.
Vodafone will launch broadband in the UK early next week. The latest mobile operator to enter the broadband market, Vodafone will offer free landline calls as part of the package.
Called Vodafone At Home, the service will cost £25 per month and offers broadband access at up to 8Mbps. Vodafone is using BT Wholesale's existing network so customers anywhere in the UK will be able to receive it. The customer's landline rental charge is also covered in the £25 charge.
However, you will need to be one of Vodafone's existing 16.3 million mobile customers to qualify for the deal. You'll also need to sign an 18-month contract to get Vodafone At Home and should you end your Vodafone mobile contract during this time the charge will rise to £35 per month.
Customers that sign up to the Vodafone At Home service will be offered a discounted mobile 3G modem so they can hook up to Vodafone's broadband services while on the move.
"Vodafone at Home will provide nationwide broadband coverage from day one, as well as offering the flexibility and convenience of going wireless at home and being able to access the internet on laptops when out of the home on Vodafone's 3G broadband network," said Tim Yates, director of Vodafone UK's Consumer Business Unit.
