England could be knocked out of the World Cup today if they fail to beat South Africa. Indeed, they could also face elimination if they win and other results don't go in their favour.

Commentary will be provided by the BBC's Test Match Special team and can be heard at www.bbc.co.uk/cricket.

England have managed victories over Canada, Kenya and Ireland so far as well as scraping past Bangladesh but have struggled against the top teams, suffering defeats against New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Australia.

Kevin Pietersen, England's top run-scorer in the tournament will face the nation he turned his back on and will be eager to show the South Africans what they are missing.

However, very few of England's other batsmen have managed a consistent run of form in the tournament and the bowlers have struggled to adjust to the slow pitches of the Carribean.

South Africa, until recently the top-ranked one-day team in the world, have performed well in the tournament so far though they lost to Australia in a high-scoring match early on and were surprisingly edged out by Bangladesh.

The match takes place in Barbados and begins at 1430 BST.
