A search application for mobile phones has been launched in the UK today.

Yahoo oneSearch has been available since earlier this year in beta form but today sees a British version being rolled out here.

The search engine will only direct mobile surfers to websites that can be viewed on a mobile phone and the results will be UK-oriented.

“Yahoo oneSearch is designed specifically for the mobile phone and understands what users are looking for on the move. It delivers relevant results with just one search, instead of a sea of Web links to PC sites," said Yahoo's Geraldine Wilson.

Yahoo oneSearch is part of the Yahoo Go for Mobile 2.0 package, a beta version of which was launched in January. Yahoo oneSearch was officially launched in the US in March.
