ISP Pipex has offered new customers the chance to get six months' worth of free broadband.

However, You'll have to sign an 18-month contract to qualify for the deal, as well as signing up to the Anytime calls package, which costs £12.50 per month and includes the BT line rental charge.

As part of the package, Pipex is offering connection speeds of up to 8Mbps and there is a 2GB per month download limit.

Customers will pay for the call package only for the first six months, then an additional £6.50 per month for the remainder of the contract, taking the overall cost of the package to £303.

“We’re delighted to be offering such a good deal on our main broadband and call package,” says Dominic Crolla, managing director of Pipex’s residential division. “It’s perfect for both new broadband users and those that are just looking to get better value from their phone and internet packages.”

Pipex has been the subject of takeover rumours recently, though potential buyers seem to have cooled their interest recently.
