A website that tracks the movements of polar bears in the Arctic region has been revamped.

Nature nuts have been able to keep tabs on selected polar bears since the website, a joint project between the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Canon, was set up in 2002.

The two organisations plan to track more polar bears than before and a new microsite has been launched within the website.

'Save The Polar Bear' is geared towards children between the ages of seven and 11 and aims to teach them about the environmental impact of climate change. It is hosted by two animated polar bear cubs called Auro and Borea and contains trivia, facts sheets and games.

Andy Vickers, managing director of Canon UK said: “By working with the WWF to address some of the key challenges of environmental sustainability through better understanding, we hope to engage as wide an audience as possible – from children to their parents and teachers – and encourage them to do their part for the environment.”
