Save the planet as you spend

A new website that uses consumer spending to helps save the planet has been launched. For every £75 spent on the site, Greener Offers will offset a tonne of carbon dioxide. Several big corporations including as British Gas, nPower and Unilever have signed up to the project. The companies involved will offer special deals on their products and services if you sign up via the Greener Offers site. Simon Ward, managing director of Greener Offers said: "Greener Offers was born with a mission to make the greener option more accessible." More than 60 well-known retailers and service providers are involved in the Green Offers project. Climate Care, an offsetting organisation that invests in projects involving reforestation and renewable energy, is providing the carbon-offsetting products to Green Offers. www.greeneroffers.com
