From 3 September you will be able to access the internet on the move using mobile operator 3's 'Turbo' network.
Offering speeds of up to 2.8Mbps and costing as little as £10 per month, the service will be rolled out in Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as the area of London contained within the North and South Circular.
This is around 50 per cent of the UK population, according to 3, and once the fourth phase of the roll-out is completed in December 85 per cent of the country will be able to access it.
There are three packages - Lite, Plus and Max. They cost £10, £15 and £25 per month respectively, and you can choose a one-year, eighteen-month or two-year contract length.
There is a monthly download limit of 1GB for the Lite package, 3GB for Plus and 7GB for Max.
To connect a laptop or PC to the network you will require a USB dongle which is free on some contracts, but could cost you as much as £99.
John Penberthy-Smith, marketing director at 3UK, said: "Mobile Broadband from 3 means you can take the internet with you wherever you are. We’ve priced it to make it outstanding value for money; accessible to everyone, not just men in grey suits!"
