The Financial Times has reported for the second time that O2 has won the iPhone contract in the UK.
After first reporting the deal in July, the paper has made a new report which has not been confirmed by Apple or O2 at the time of writing.
The report states that Apple wishes to release the iPhone in the UK market in time for Christmas.
It is also claimed that Apple is demanding 10 per cent of the revenues generated by the sale of voice and data services.
Joss Gillet, analyst at Ovum, said: "Apple has challenged existing vendors by re-inventing the mobile phone device, and if reports are correct, securing very advantageous revenue deals with operators.
"The report that the operators may be ready to hand over to Apple 10 per cent of the revenues made from calls and data transfers by customers over iPhones, is unheard of in the industry, and an evidence of the power of Apple's brand and iPhone's appeal," Gillet said.
