Yahoo Trip Planner

Yahoo has launched a service in the UK that allows travellers to plan their trips and read about other people's experiences.

Trip Planner is part of Yahoo Travel, a service that attracts one million visitors a month, and will let you plot your planned route on an interactive map.

In addition to this you can add notes and reviews about the destinations, as well as photographs to share with your friends and other Trip Planner users.

Laila Dahlen of Yahoo said: "People are no longer limited to just booking tickets online and by incorporating interactive and social media elements, we’re creating one of the most useful and dynamic travel resources available."

The features are enabled by Yahoo Trip Planner's integration with other Yahoo services such as online photo-sharing service Flickr, Yahoo Maps and Yahoo Travel Guides.

"Just as other Yahoo social search products like Flickr, Yahoo Answers, del.icio.us, and MyWeb have created a platform for sharing information between users, Trip Planner is about offering a way for travellers to benefit from sharing their travel experiences," said Dahlen.
