If you've received an email offering you pictures of stars such as Angelina Jolie naked, think twice before opening them.
Cybercriminals are using promises of famous actresses pictured naked in an attempt to infect our PCs.
Security firm Sophos found that 0.12 per cent of all emails sent in September contained malicious email attachments.
This was largely down to a concerted effort on behalf of the criminals to spam out a Trojan horse known as the Pushdo Trojan.
The emails attempt to attract the attention of the recipient with pictures of 'Angelina Jolie' and 'Holly Berry' [sic] undressed, but actually infect the PC and turn it into a 'bot', meaning that the hacker can use it for task such as generating more spam email without the owner's knowledge.
"The trick of tempting users with scantily clad pictures of hot-looking girls is as old as the hills, but people still fall for it," said Carole Theriault, senior security consultant at Sophos.
"This outbreak underlines that hackers have not turned their backs on using email as a vector for attack," continued Theriault.
This is not the first time Web User has reported on this phenomenon - back in August cybercriminals were using the promise of naked pictures of Angelina Jolie to lure people into clicking on links in emails that actually led them to malware.
