Barclays calls for YouTube spoofs

If you're interested in winning free cinema tickets for a year, Barclays is running a competition for budding film-makers.

One of the spoofs sends up Sam Mendes' American Beauty

Barclays is offering a year's worth of free cinema tickets to one budding movie-maker.

It has started a competition to find the best short, home-made version of a famous film. The winner will be given a pass that'll get them into any film they want for the next year.

A sense of humour is a pre-requisite, as the video should be a spoof. However, you won't need any high-tech equipment, as mobile phones that can shoot video footage will do, according to Barclays.

If you want to enter, you'll need to upload your video Barclay's YouTube page. Barclays has put three examples on YouTube to get your creative juices flowing, including a spoof of American Beauty called Fast Food Beauty.

You've not got long, though - the closing date is this Friday, 5 October. Judging will take place on 19 October.
