Forget cooking Christmas dinner or dealing with irritating relatives - the biggest headache you have today could be caused by newly-bought gadgets.
The gadgets you've been bought by loved ones for Christmas could be even more frustrating than seeing the same old repeats on TV today.
That's because people often don't read the manual for more technologically complex gadgets, believing they can set them up without help.
According to BT, many of us will be reduced to clicking randon buttons on our new toys this year - something that could easily cause them to break.
"It appears that the British aversion to asking for assistance is preventing many from getting the help they need," said Ali Malik, a home IT advisor for BT.
"We even find that people resort to clicking random buttons rather than turn to an expert. This can often do more damage than good."
And another study conducted by YouGov, a quarter of us are already resigned to spending between 30 minutes and five hours just setting our technology up on the big day.
Tim Fairs of The TechGuys offered some advice to anyone struggling to get their gadgets working.
"Most electrical products these days come with a simple quick-start guide that describes the half a dozen or so simple steps needed to get the device up and running quickly.
"We strongly advise customers not to discard this sheet with the wrapping paper. The next most important advice is to pay very careful attention to the order in which things need to be done," said Fairs.
