If you're tired of the way Google presents search results or think they could be shown in a more useful way, you can sign up for an experiment that should make a difference.
Google's experimental search page can, for example, plot all of your search results on a map, or create a timeline of results.
You can sign up for the experiment to get alternate views when you search at the Google Labs website. When you use Google to search the web in future, you will find your results presented in a new way.
"For some searches you need more options and more control. That's why we've created our experimental search page to let you try out some of our newest ideas," said Google's Andrew Hogue.
Google also offers other search experiments in the Google Labs site, such as keyword suggestions and keyboard shortcuts. However, you can only sign up to one experiment at a time.
Hogue invited surfers to send their comments about the experimental search page to Google.
"Send us feedback by clicking on the experiment name in the upper right part of the search page and selecting 'Take our survey'. We'd love to hear your thoughts!" he said.
