From today film fans will be able to watch new British movies on the go as part of a deal between mobile phone operator Orange and Icewhole.com. Icewhole.com is a website for burgeoning filmmakers and actors. Their partnership with Orange means that millions of extra viewers will able to download short films for under £1. Royalties from the downloads will be paid to the aspiring movie makers. Movies available to download range in genre from horror to thriller to film-noir. You can check out the full offering at the Icewhole.com website. Orange is well known for its sponsorship of the film industry in Britain, particularly the Bafta Awards and its 2-for-1 movie deals on Wednesdays. "The accessibility of our mobile platform means millions of Orange users can always find something entertaining to watch when they’re on the move," said Magda Lojszczyk of Orange. Graham Rathlin, who directed the one-minute film The Crook, said that the partnership provides short film-makers with a tremendous opportunity to "reach a wider audience than ever before". www1.orange.co.uk/entertainment/film www.icewhole.com
