A new James Bond novel hits the shelves today and fans can have a go at imitating the original Bond creator Ian Fleming by penning a chapter on the BBC's World Have Your Say program.

The new Bond novel, entitled Devil May Care and written by Sebastian Faulks, is the 15th to feature Her Majesty's finest secret agent 007.

The book, set during the Cold War, will be unveiled onboard HMS Exeter in Tower Bridge in London and marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bond creator Ian Fleming.

To mark the occasion, BBC's World Service is asking listeners to have a go at writing a chapter of a Bond novel which will be read out over the airwaves starting from tonight.

The first chapter has been penned already and opens in typical Bond style: "Enemies rarely die well", it begins.

Anyone can have a go at writing the next chapter, all you have to do is log in to the site and submit your 300-word literary masterpiece.

Also due out later this year is the 22nd Bond film Quantum of Solace currently in production and starring Daniel Craig.

Web User recently reported on the auction of the Bond.com domain which had a reserve price of £500,000.
