A homeless man in America has been accused of duping as many as 13 women by posing as a Grammy-nominated millionaire on an internet dating website.
Paul Kruger, 50, used a laptop computer to meet the women on Millionairematch.com, prosecutors said in a Philadelphia court.
Kruger is accused of stealing more than $100,000 (about £50,000) after convincing them he was a Grammy-nominated record producer who needed backers for a new business venture that manufactured DVDs, CDs and videos.
Millionairematch.com bills itself as the "first, most effective and largest site in the world to date, marry successful, beautiful people".
It boasts among its clients "CEOs, pro-athletes, doctors, lawyers, investors, entrepreneurs, beauty queens, fitness models, and Hollywood celebrities".
Kruger used the dating website to find investors. He even showed one woman false stock reports detailing the success of a non-existent new business according to court reports.
Authorities say that the scam was set up to fuel his gambling addiction. Kruger was arrested last week in a casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey and extradited to Pennsylvania where he was charged.
