'Violated' by YouTube video

A man has told a court in New York he felt 'violated' after watching videos his wife posted on YouTube after she learned he wanted a divorce.

Web User: Husband felt \'violated\' by wifes tell-all YouTube videos

The man who was publicly humiliated when his wife shared personal details about their private life with millions of people on YouTube has said he felt "violated" by the experience.

Philip Smith, 76, a well-known Broadway producer, is suing his wife Tricia Walsh Smith, 49, for divorce on the grounds that the videos, which have been viewed more than four million times, constitute spousal abuse.

Mr Smith told a New York court that he was a private person and that his wife's tell-all videos were his first experience with YouTube.

"Here was my life being spread out on a TV. I felt violated in every sense of the word," he said.

Ms Walsh Smith went public with the now infamous videos back in April. Since broadcasting on YouTube she testified that she has since been paid $88,000 (about £44,000) for interviews about the case.

In the videos made in the couple's plush Park Avenue home she entreats viewers with all sorts of personal secrets regarding the couple's sex life. At one point in the clip she calls up her husband's office to ask what she should do with his condoms.

Any chance of a reconciliation has been ruled out by Mr Smith. When asked by lawyers if the two could make peace he replied: "I can no longer trust her, impossible. I wouldn't close my eyes and go to sleep in front of her."
