UK is Wi-Fi network crazy


A recent survey has shown that Brits are crazy for wireless networking.

A recent survey has shown that three out of every five broadband customers in the UK now have a wireless network at home.

Linksys' survey found that 87 per cent of respondents to the survey who had a wireless network at home had connected their PC and/or laptop to the network.

Twenty-eight per cent have attached their printer; 20 per cent have attached a games consoles to the network, and 6 per cent have even connected their digital music players.

"The research shows that wireless networking is now a mass-market technology and not only for the tech-savvy consumer," said Chris Dobrec, director of Linksys Strategy and Business Development.

The survey also found that 96 per cent of the respondents had a PC or laptop at home, 69 per cent had a digital music player, 57 per cent a DVR/PVR or hard-disk recorder, 58 per cent a games console, and 15 per cent a digital photo frame.
