Dragons neglect domain names

The Dragons in the popular BBC series Dragon's Den may have an eye for a business opportunity, but they could be forgetting one important thing.

Contestants on TV's Dragon's Den may face a tough grilling from Duncan Bannatyne et al, but there's one important question that has never been asked on the programme.

Domain name company Sedo has claimed that while the Dragons focus on issues such as financials and product patents, they don't ever think about domain names.

"I have never once heard the judges ask a contestant whether they have registered the best internet domain names to promote or sell their products," said Nora Nanayakkara, director of business development at Sedo.

"In 2008, it's a shame that the public face of the UK entrepreneur movement doesn’t seem to realise that how an organisation presents itself on the web can make or break a business – and the right domain name is a big part of that," Nanayakkara continued.
