The Linkup to shut next week

Customers of The Linkup, previously MediaMax, have until next Friday to download any files still being kept with the online storage service.

Data

Customers of online data storage service The Linkup will have their accounts closed down next week.

The service, which was previously known as MediaMax before it was taken over by another company, will be inaccessible after Friday 8 August.

Customers are advised that they should download any files they wish to keep before this time and that further uploads to the service will not be accepted.

In an email to customers, the company said that it had not been possible to complete the transfer of files from the MediaMax service to The Linkup, meaning that it could not provide "a service that meets your expectations and our business requirements".

"This is a very disappointing outcome for us, and we know it has been a frustrating experience for many of our customers. We are very sorry that we have not been able to continue our service as we had envisioned," the company said in a statement.
