Just two weeks after launch, Google Chrome is already more popular than Apple’s Safari browser, according to the head of a social search site.
Hamish Robertson, Chief Executive of Rowdii.com, conducted a survey to see which was the most popular browser for people accessing the site.
He found that Google Chrome has rapidly found a significant base of users.
"I was staggered to discover that only two weeks after launch, Chrome is already the third most popular browser used to access our site, representing 4.5 per cent of users. Safari is sitting at only 4 per cent," Robertson said.
"At the current rate of adoption, it was likely that Chrome would be as popular as Firefox within a year," he continued.
Last week Web User reported that many surfers swapped from IE8 to Google Chrome during Chrome’s first few days.
